So far this is turning into a good week for spinning beam photos. Not that I would ever complain about that, I always love seeing people play on them. These next photos are of Matt Hattaway’s first experience on a spinning beam along with Jay of Hold Fast Suspensions. This was only Matt’s second suspension, but I have a feeling he definitely isn’t going to stop any time soon.
Hold Fast Suspensions was started in 2008 by Andy McLeod and Nate Potts in Winston Salem, North Carolina. With these two being employed at different studios in the same town, Liberty Tattoo and Ink Well, it’s nice to see that they are able to come together and work on something they care about. I always appreciate artists that can get past petty competitive attitudes and egos to work with one another.
Hold Fast Suspension offers both indoor and outdoor private suspensions, as well as performing at conventions and other events. They are a team that is open for anyone to suspend with, and Andy has said that they have a growing client base with many people in their area taking an interest in trying body suspension for the first time.
Matt said that with his first suspension, which was a 4 point suicide, he was only in the air for around 3 minutes, but with the spinning beam he kept going for about an hour. It’s good to know that it was so much easier for him his second time around, and that they had such a good time with it.
Thank you so much for the photos Matt, and thank you Andy for the information about your suspension team!
